SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR

Do you enjoy planning and organizing events? Want to get paid for doing it? We are seeking an experienced Events Coordinator to join our team of high-motivated, self-sufficient early talent developers. 

As the Special Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing every aspect of several events for the year, from securing venues to evaluating success afterwards. We have over 10 events planned for the summer of 2019 so downtime will be limited and multi-tasking along with organized, project management will be of the essence.

strong customer service and excellent written/verbal communication are vital. Attention to detail and creativity will set apart the best among the candidates. Add in some strong computer skills and passion for the job and you’ll be our ideal candidate. 

The goal is to organize unforgettable events that will ensure the development and entertainment of participants and facilitate the completion of business objectives. A balance of creativity and business knowledge is ideal.

This role reports directly into the President, with a dotted line to the Director of Client Experience. NOTE: Special requests may be made outside the below responsibilities. 

Responsibilities 

  • Execute marketing plan for multiple events

  • Build and manage events budget

  • Establish standardized events procedures

  • Manage speaker fulfillment process- from submission to day-of delivery

  • Coordinate with participants, sponsors, volunteers, vendors and venues

  • Manage event set up, tear down, and follow-ups

Requirements

  • Experience working in event planning or related field

  • Experience planning and/or marketing meetings, conferences or corporate events (B2B) 

  • Excellent project management skills or experience planning multiple events at once

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Preferred degrees in hospitality management, marketing, advertising, business management or public relations

  • Must have laptop computer

  • Must be able travel (Columbia, SC and Raleigh, NC for now)
